barjohn Posted February 2, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know Luigi makes a beautiful 1/2 case but it costs a beautiful $$ too. The Leica protector 1/2 case looks to me adequate to do the job of protecting the camera body while not costing an arma and a leg. The only problem is i can't seem to find any store in the US that carries it and the stores in teh UK that carry it don't accept US orders. Does anyone here know where I can find one? Leica part No. 14869. Thanks, your help would be appreciated.

They do take international orders and have several of the "Leica protectors" in stock The Classic Camera - The Leica Shop I assume the Leica part you want is 86913 the 14869 doesn't seem to be a valid number unless it's a twisted 86914 which also isn't valid. Another UK supplier who also takes international orders is Robert White Photographic Equipment Sales - Robert White  I use the leather and the long nose neoprene protectors. They're both very different but practical. Neoprene parts can be found by entering "neoprene" in the classic search engine.  Bob

gravastar Posted February 2, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 2, 2007 OK, sorted this out. The codes on the Classic Camera website have no relationship to the Leica catalog codes, I asked - it's just chance that for the protector the codes are almost a mangled version of one another. So the Classic part number 86913 is the Leica 14869 you want. I have both the 1/2 case protector and the neoprene long nose case. The protector makes the camera easier to hold and the neoprene case gives additional protection. The neoprene case will also fit with the grip attached. Â The people at Classic say just use their web ordering system for an international order if you decide to purchase from them. At the moment they have several protectors in stock. Â Bob. barjohn Posted February 2, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted February 2, 2007 Classic cmaera wants 55 pounds for shipping alone. That is why I was looking for a US seller. The US price is $110.00 for the case, I don't want to pay $110 for shipping it.
