DMR users: Is Brightscreen eyepiece magnifier suitable when wearing glasses?

With my new glasses (now multi-focal - if that is the right word) I find it extremely difficult to focus when shooting portraits. The only practical solution apart from selling the DMR seems to be this horribly expensive magnifier from Brightscreen. They claim it is ok for people wearing glasses, ie. you will be able to see the complete DMR screen. However, it would be helpful to have some user experience since ordering from the US and potentially returning the product is not something I am keen on.

So, if you are wearing glasses and use the magnifier on your DMR: Can you still see the complete DMR part of the screen? If yes, is the magnification worth the hassle?

If someone knows a different solution I would also be pleased. I have already tried the Olympus 2x magnifier (I think it was Olympus) but this showed only part of the screen.

Thanks for your help.

You can, but I feel it screws up your eyesight. There is just something that tires your eye and you loose the ability to see focus clearly. Your eye feels dry.

I have mine as complete normal, normal screen, and the I have adjusted the normal eyepiece with -0,5 or something. Works perfect and you can use the camera a full day with normal distance glasses (not reading or screen glasses) without ruining your eyes.

It's like if you try to read a book or on an iPhone with normal reading glasses for some time, then after that it's like your eyesight is out of adjustment.

Wolfgang--

Check with your optometrist. Maybe your glasses aren't adjusted right, or maybe you're not using them right.

I'm using varifocal lenses, which gently glide from from far to near vision. One pair I had for a short time was just wrongly constructed, and I got them corrected.

With multifocal lenses, perhaps one of the focus distances isn't right for the R camera; trying to adjust to that would cause eyestrain. Maybe all you need to do is adjust the camera diopter to match your specific focus distance.
