luigi bertolotti Posted April 30, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted April 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Super Elmar 15 3,5 for R - Zeiss design : I'm vaguely tempted by it... there is one for sale at a not indecent price (about half than a new Zeiss 15 ZM); R to M adapters are easy to find... focusing ought not to be a big issue... of course : 1) Is terribly bulky compared to the CV 15 2) No way to manage UVIR filtering onto M8 3) Most important, it can be problematic (impossible ?) the use of an external VF on the accessory shoe... front is really WIDE. Â I wonder if someone in the forum has ever used this lens on a M8/M9.
Advertisement Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Hi luigi bertolotti, Take a look here Has anyone tried THIS 15 on a M ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lars_bergquist Posted April 30, 2011 Share #2  Posted April 30, 2011 Dear Luigi, Optically, it should be possible. I do sometimes use a 16mm Olympus semi-fisheye lens, with very satisfactory results. But this is indeed a monster – maximum diameter is listed at 283.5mm. So it would completely obscure anything that you could mount in the accessory shoe. (Let's not talk about the weight of 710 grams ...)  A finder, with a lens like this, is really more for levelling the camera than for composing the picture. You do really get just about everything! So maybe a spirit level in the accessory shoe would work well, with you operating the camera as if it would be a Rolleiflex TLR ...  Lars Bergquist The old man from the Age of the Rolleiflex T
