The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) indeed looks different from the European Robin (Erithacus rubecula).

 

The following image shows a more typical posture of our American Robin:

Many thanks. That's my favorite too. A sometimes really funny bird.

It's a lot easier when the Sun cooperates and the lighting is perfect.

In the other images the Robin was mostly in the shadows.
