rea1412 Posted April 28, 2011 Share #1  Posted April 28, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone! I am new in this forum and this is my first post here  Last week I have finally had the chance to try the M9 with Summilux 50 (I rented it for 1 day). I am very pleased with the result. It was a different experience from using a DSLR but a really wonderful one. I had never used a rangefinder camera before this (I have a Canon with a few L Lenses) and now I would really like to buy them.  (1) Could anyone please advise me what I should really watch for/check (when I will be in the shop and with the camera & the lens in front of me) before buying...in my case, the M9 & Summilux 50 (I read somewhere in this forum about a special serial number, the 6 digits coded lens, etc, etc, etc) and (2) if anyone could tell me where the authorised dealer of Leica in Milan (or Brescia area) is. I apologise if I had not made my question very clear.  Here's, I attached one photo from my one day photoshot trial with the M9.  Thank u very much in advance, Rea Welcome, dear visitor! earleygallery Posted May 1, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted May 1, 2011 Hi, there's a full list of dealers on the Leica website. Coded lenses have black and White dots painted on the lens mount, easy to spot.
rea1412 Posted May 1, 2011 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 1, 2011 Hi James! Â Thanks!!! In fact I only realised it later that I could have easily found the list of the authorised dealers on Leica website Thanks for reminding me! How about the serial numbers?!? for the body as well as for the lens.... do I have to pay a special attention also to that? (serial numbers on the box should matching with the one of the camera/lens?!?.... or something like that?).
jaapv Posted May 2, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted May 2, 2011 Unless you want the serial number to contain your birthday, there is no reason to pay any attention to it. Just buy an unopened box.
