Bill W Posted February 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) There was a sticky for a link to register with Leica on this forum. The info that came with the M8 says to go to the Lieca website and order the filters but the only link there was no longer working as of last night. Did I miss something in a previous thread? I will call Leica today and try to get my filters ordered. I am waiting for my letter concerning the 30% discount. I was able to register for that last week. I apologize if this was discussed already.

I apologize if this was discussed already. I had the same problem. I mailed info@leica-camera.com, got a list of the info they wanted, bounced it back and the next day I had mail telling me that the camera had been registered, and that the filters would be forthcoming. There are some nice people over there in Solms. The old man from the Age of Glass Plates

I just bought one and I'm told that the 30% off a lens deal ended on 12/31/06 and I'm not eligible. Please if you bought and paid for in full after 12/31/06 let me know how you got the 30% off deal to work for you.
Bill W Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted February 1, 2007 Ed, I ordered it and paid for it in early November so I qualified I am told. I recieved it last week and I had registered on a link that is not available which stated that you had paid but not received your M8 by 12/31/2006. I have not received a letter yet and I will certainly let the forum know when I do.. By the way, the camera takes incredible photos that even my wife says WOW. They really have snap to them, like my old slides take with my old R system.

They do run down pretty quick, at least that is my experience.
stunsworth Posted February 1, 2007 Share #9 Posted February 1, 2007 Ed, I was out at the weekend and got at least 300 shots from mine, how many do you seem to get?
Shootist Posted February 1, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 1, 2007 Ed, I was out at the weekend and got at least 300 shots from mine, how many do you seem to get? So far I have taken about 400-500 shots and in that time I have charged my 3 batteries about 2-3 times each. I've had it about one week. I am looking at the LCD a lot and fooling with all the menus and settings and originally I had it set to never go to sleep and kept forgetting to turn it off. I'll have a better estimation in about a week but it seems to really use up the battery whether or not you are actually taking shots with it or not. With my Nikon D200 I can leave it on for days and the battery doesn't go down that much. The Nikon is in a semi sleep mode until you activate the meter. It uses about the same level of power when left on, without meter activation, or with the switch set to off.
