menos I M6 Posted April 26, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted April 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, there has been one recently in the For Sale forum with a slightly dinged lens hood at 1000, which would make the count to six. Â I would like to have one, but they are hard to come by in shops.
spylaw4 Posted April 26, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted April 26, 2011 Like everything else - made in batches - the cost might put some folks off, but I would guess that a lot more have been sold than one might at first think.

ezc203 Posted April 26, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted April 26, 2011 If we can find the highest/lowest serial number, maybe that'll be a more effective way to finding the total production number? But what do I know... I do have one though...

But what do I know... I do have one though... Â Following your blog closely Eddie and loving it ;-) Â Btw - is there a "I love my 24 Lux" thread here on LUF, I missed, where users praise this lens and non users can quiz owners about the secrets of it? Â It is more difficult, to actually see one of these (now ask about trying one) before making a buying decision, than doing so for a Noctilux! I would not shell out this kind of money unseen, before actually having had a hands on. Â I do have a Nikon 24 1.4 AF-S, which is supposed to be an optically superior lens to the Lux, but I am very much interested in the Lux for it's size, weight and most importantly, M-system compatibility aspects over the Nikon SLR lens. andybarton Posted April 26, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted April 26, 2011 Leica use batches of Serial Numbers and therefore finding the first and last is not going to tell you anything, I'm afraid. It probably wouldn't even tell you how many lenses of ANY type were made.
Xmas Posted April 26, 2011 Share #13  Posted April 26, 2011 Hi  Of the order of 100 per year or less. If a glass type were to be withdrawn and Leica had to make a type II then instant collector.  Note the 35mm pre asph was only made at 300 (or less) per year in its initial decade, and lots of PJ snapped them up.  Noel
