stefans4 Posted September 17, 2017 Share #4907 Posted September 17, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know. This is very hard. Some of the hints (lavender, forest fires) seem to suggest that the lake is close to Provence - so it could be Lac de Sainte Croix (du Verdon); the beaches seem compatible with your beautiful picture, Lars. But this is, at best, the third-largest man-made lake in France. Lac de Serre-Poncon is larger (and would also fit the hints: south of France, almost equal distance to Sardinia and to Pyrenees), and the largest one is Lac du Der-Chantecoq (which obviously does not fit any of the hints). So I don't know. (Sorry for butting in. Even if the correct solution happens to be included above I have nothing to show at this time.)
larsv Posted September 17, 2017 Share #4908 Posted September 17, 2017 It is Lac de Ste Croix and according to Wikipedia the second largest in France. But Wikipedia ma well be wrong... Good to hear you like the photo, thank you. Invitation to all, please feel free to post a new photo.
mikemgb Posted September 17, 2017 Share #4909 Posted September 17, 2017 I took this photo today, this village is hard to get at but is still popular with some tourists and does boast two hotels. Can anyone name it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Michael Geschlecht Posted September 25, 2017 Share #4912 Posted September 25, 2017 Hello Mike, Could we also be above the Latitude of the Gulf of Mexico?Perhaps more or less the Latitude of St. Louis?Best Regards, Michael
mikemgb Posted September 26, 2017 Share #4913 Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) North of the Latitude of St. Louis. A couple of hints, this is on an island, the village boasts two hotels but no church, the lack of a church is very unusual here.
