roberth Posted January 31, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello All, I would like to know if there is a cetner graduated filter for the Noctilux? I know part of the charm is that heavy vignetting but I would like to have some non vignetted shots done at F1 using slide film. thanks in advance. Advertisement Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hi roberth, Take a look here Noctilux Filter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
doubice Posted February 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2007 Robert, Have you tried a Neutral Density filter? It will not get rid of the vignetting, but will allow you to shoot wide open in daylight. If you really need a center graduated filter, I recall that some older Schneider Super Angulon lenses for large and medium format had this filter available. Try searching the Schneider / B+W page and also check into Cokin, they make just about anything. For the Cokin filters you will need a special adapter, but it might be worth a try. Good luck, Jan
roberth Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted February 1, 2007 thanks Jan, yes I plan on getting a ND of about 5 stops or close to that. I have a 9 stop ND but not in 60mm. I really want to try using wide open, full daylight but with less vignetting on slide film and see how these project. I will search out your suggested suppliers. roberth Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 1, 2007 I found this "You need to remember that it can not be seen by the film until the lens has been stopped down at least 2 stops." at Filters for large format photography. AaronJ Posted February 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2007 I want a four or five stop ND filter for my Noct but can only seem to readily find 3 stop or 9 stop filters in 60mm. Where should I look?
roberth Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted February 1, 2007 Schneider have plenty of types, finding them is another issue. Schneider Optics
