Bill Sievers Posted January 31, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got some Neopan back today. Here is a layman's comparison of the output of an M8 with 28mm Summicron and an M6 loaded with Neopan 400. The M8 was set to ISO 640. I processed the M8 image in Lightroom and Digital Film Tools. I am not advocating one over the other. Its just an interesting (albeit less than scientific) exercise. Also note that the scanner at this QTH is a lowly HP 2410 and the image was scanned off a print. To my eye the M8 is a bit more sterile. I think it may be worthwhile to try the M8 at ISO 2500 for shots like these to see if it more emulates the film look. Just my humble opinion.  Tell you what though........seeing these types of Chinatown images sure makes me miss San Francisco!  Woody Spedden

I generally don't like the look of super high ISO digital. As much as I love film, I could never go back 100% There is so much you can do with a camera like the M8.
