Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 1, 2007 Share #41  Posted February 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have noticed in Guy's postings that he is inclined to acquire lenses now and then. I suggest that if there is a lens you are thinking of buying that you buy the 486 filter for it, send the filter to Guy, and he'll get the lens and produce some great pix with it so you can see what the lens does.  What a deal.  Regards,    I have a 60mm sitting here naked. Actually made this one from a 62 and put in a 60mm mount it works but not pretty. I'm wondering when Leica will start to ship and yes there the same . I played with a Leica one a couple weeks ago.  BTW I bought from that German site also and they delivered but that was last month or so
Advertisement Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Hi Guest guy_mancuso, Take a look here Need a 55mm IR filter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
photorunner Posted February 1, 2007 Share #42 Â Posted February 1, 2007 Thanks for the info Bob. I guess everyone is trying to get these filters for their lenses. I've just gotten my M8 and am a bit in the dark as to the need for the IR filters. I've never felt the need to use them before on my film based M cameras. There seems to be a lot more learning I will be doing with the digital M8. Thanks to people in this forum like you, the road to discovery will be a more enjoyable one. woodyspedden Posted February 2, 2007 Share #43  Posted February 2, 2007 Thanks Chet that is Sh photo. Boris is the guy there ,very nice guy that I have bought a DMR package from. Must be on holiday also  Hey Guy  I also buy from Boris. His prices are always at the top but so are the products he sells. I just bought a 90 Chrome Silver APO/ASPH from him. Coded and mint condition for 2200 Euros. Almost over the top with regards to price. When received this lens was absolutely a mint like new and (almost) worth the price. Boris needs to get a little more "real" but I would probably buy from him again because what he sells is precisely what he says he is selling i.e. this is a site with a low BS quotient. What he says is what he sells. only you can decide what that is worth.  Woody Spedden

sean_reid Posted February 2, 2007 Share #45  Posted February 2, 2007 People around here are just so damn nice. A forum member just called me and has a extra one he is overnighting to me. You just have to love this place and the members that reside here. So much different than other sites. Besides having great gear the owners are even better. Thanks Guy  That's cool. Did your other 55 get damaged or is it more a matter the hassle of moving it from lens to lens? Didn't you have three at one point?  Cheers,  Sean

J_Brittenson Posted February 2, 2007 Share #49 Â Posted February 2, 2007 I have spare a black 49mm F-Pro 486 if anyone is interested. I've used it, but it's like new in its little case. I also have a silver 43mm D-Pro 486, unopened, I'd be willing to part with. I'd also be very happy to trade my other silver 43mm for a black one!
