Suuumm55 Posted April 18, 2011 Share #23 Posted April 18, 2011 Thank you Ingrid for your nice picture ... so I'm not alone in loving the Red Poppy In fact, I never get tired of looking at the poppies because there is not one that is identical to another and then the color red is virtually inimitable and it fascinates me In addition to the green in the background, it's really beautiful This last picture is offered to Ingrid R8 VarioElmar 35-70mm Macro Fuji Reala film 100 Iso NikonScan Best Henry Oh yes Henry, thank you ! the coloring of poppies ( in german Klatschmohn ) are very variable and your coloring of poppie is new for me - it´s an critical experiment, because i like the natural colors best Ingrid

David Monkhouse Posted April 22, 2011 Share #27 Posted April 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Henry, forgive me but I have to say that I do not warm to your poppy pictures, I find the background colours disturbing and the red poppy colours washed out. In short, they are no longer poppies that gladden the heart and lift the spirits. I hope you take the above as constructive criticism which should be the main function of the forum as no offense is intended. If however your intention was to shock and wake us from our nostalgia then I have to say, I still do not like them… Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted April 22, 2011 Author Share #28 Posted April 22, 2011 Henry, forgive me but I have to say that I do not warm to your poppy pictures, I find the background colours disturbing and the red poppy colours washed out. I hope you take the above as constructive criticism which should be the main function of the forum as no offense is intended. If however your intention was to shock and wake us from our nostalgia then I have to say, I still do not like them… You are welcome David .... especially for franck and "constructive" feedback as you said I like your photo of a poppy in the middle of a cornfield. I will also try to find similar sites Here in our region, we have at the end of April and beginning of May, poppies growing in naturally in wheat fields and where wheat is not yet ripe It is for this reason that we see here poppies (sometimes with whole field of poppies, where these photos were taken) in the middle of the green wheat fields Other poppies come out maybe later when the wheat will be higher and mature, but when it starts getting too hot , poppies are not blooming In fact, we're lucky to be in an agricultural area where farmers do not put too much herbicide That said, in general farmers are putting more and more herbicides to eliminate those annoying poppies for their culture . David thank you for watching and for your nice photo Best Henry
