C1 LE to C1 Pro upgrade

Several Pro's who post here use the C1-Pro version and like it. Maybe they'd tell us what makes it so useful for their workflow.

It's not easy to discern this info from Phase One's site.

As for me, I'm using *w-a-y* too much software! I using C1-LE (still waiting to spend the dough for the Pro version) for dng processing, then Neat Image, then PSCS2 to print. And, I'm using ACDSee for ad-hoc viewing. I really miss the double feature of Brightness and Exposure that PSCS2 offers.

Plus, I want software that will allow me to tame the vignetting and cyan-drift (Sean Reid's term) from using wide lenses on the M8. I haven't yet explored the features in PSCS2 that address this.

I would not be in any hurry to upgrade from LE to PRO at the moment, v4 is due sometime in the 1stQ. Given the poor profile for the M8 and the reported extra features in v4 it may be prudent to wait.

Also from memory the Sandisk upgrade from LE to PRO is the most cost effective. I could be wrong on that as I don't have the price in front of me.

From the users' point of view there is a problem with upgrades in C1. Phase One only allows so many upgrades before you have to pay a fee again. If I recall correctly from the site, you can get 2 new versions of LE for the original copy without having to pay a fee. I believe there are more version upgrades available for Pro, but it needs to be taken into account.

This makes me want to delay as long as possible before upgrading.

As to the price of an upgrade from LE to Pro via the Sandisk route: According to the inlay I found in an Extreme III box I just got is 15% off the reg upgrade price - which brings it to, according to the card, $365. Thats down from the list price of $429.

I just got my D-Lux 3 and found, that the RAW files get lost, because they are not seen by my software iView , C1 LE and Bridge:mad:

The import programs see the jpg-files and rename it like I rename all my files and the RAW got lost and everything gets out of control!

any solution today or to come?

anyway, the D-Lux3 is just great (and small:D )

regards
