Cable Release Equivalent?

Recommended Posts

Well, O.K., I am duly impressed with the V2 firmware update. It seems to be good enough, even with hand-held photos, to warrant some tripod tests.

What does one do for a cable release or its equivalent? Is there an electronic shutter release, like some others have? Maybe one is stuck using the shutter delay. I'm certain that Leica never envisioned this camera as a serious tripod camera, but the lens seems to warrant it.

That would be a nifty solution. However considering that the Leica turns on, but never really boots up to take pictures when the port is in use, it would probably not work.

Use the self-timer function, if it has one<

Well, I've considered that and have come to the conclusion that it may be the only way. However, being an old-time mechanical camera buff, using the self-timer seems a bit second-class.

Neither is it second-class.
