sps Posted January 29, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone tried to thread two of the mulipliers together? I only have one, and wonder if it can be done. Â I took the 135 Apo-Telyt out for a walk yesterday, and very few images were usable. Just slightly out of focus. With two mulipliers I'm convinced it would be usable.
Advertisement Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hi sps, Take a look here Leica 1.25 multiplier. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted January 29, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 29, 2007 Someone can afford two? Â Man, these razor blades are kiling me!
gesper Posted January 29, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 29, 2007 Even if it works it would be like looking down a tunnel. Might be OK for the longer lenses.
Shootist Posted January 29, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted January 29, 2007 I really don't think your OOF problem is caused by not having enough magnification in the VF. I suspect it is a lens to RF adjustment problem. The only way to tell is to mount the camera on a tripod and set up some test shots at different distances. Then you can determine if it is a lens to RF problem or that you just can't see the RF patch correctly. I've used the 135mm F/2.8 with eyes to great success but then the bug eyes do magnify the image in the VF.
gravastar Posted January 29, 2007 Share #5  Posted January 29, 2007 Has anyone tried to thread two of the mulipliers together? I only have one, and wonder if it can be done. I took the 135 Apo-Telyt out for a walk yesterday, and very few images were usable. Just slightly out of focus. With two mulipliers I'm convinced it would be usable.  I've used a Leica 1.25x and a Megaperls 1.35x screwed together with a 90mm tele-elmarit, the combination works OK, it certainly makes focusing easier. As others have said it's a bit like tunnel vision though. What may be important is the Megapearl's magnifier has an adjustable dioptre correction which the Leica ones don't have. I don't know if two Leica ones together would need dioptre correction.  Bob.
sps Posted January 29, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted January 29, 2007 I am thinking about for the 135 only (maybe the 90). This would give a pretty accurate 180mm & 130mm effective lens. Â The M7 with a .72 and the 1.25 multiplier gives an effective base of 62.325. The M8 with two 1.25's =73.
manolo Posted January 29, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The rubber protection on the Leica magnifier came loose and lost. Does anybody know if there is a way to ask for a new one? Is there a spair part number? Â Geronimo
carstenw Posted January 29, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted January 29, 2007 Savvas, do you always misfocus on the same side, or does it vary? You might want to test that first. If it varies, then you could probably use a little help focusing. If it is always on the same side, something might need adjusting.
sps Posted January 29, 2007 Author Share #9 Â Posted January 29, 2007 I'm just missing it front and back. It is definitely me.

Is there a spair part number? Geronimo  I called Solms about that; just order through your dealer. Otoh there ssem to be some 10mm rubber rings sold in hardware stores (for taps) that fit just fine.
