janelle Posted January 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) this is probably an absurd question to all, but why not ask, Is there a fisheye lens for the M8 by Leica or any other compatible lens maker for an M? Obviously, I am new to this format, coming from SLR only, but I have a project I need one for..
Advertisement Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hi janelle, Take a look here fisheye lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DaveEP Posted January 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2007 Are you looking for a fisheye because of the 'effect' or because it's 'wide' ? Two suggestions : Take a look at the C/V 12mm and 15mm lenses. They are not fisheye, but are quite wide - especially the 12mm! Next, you can manipulate the wide shots (from say the 12mm) to look like fisheye in Photoshop - if this is the effect you are searching for... Vivek Iyer Posted January 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 28, 2007 A 12mm f/8 Accura (or Berolina) fisheye. This was made in T-Mount. Get a T-mount to M adapter and shoot. Lens has fixed focus (focus from 12cm to infinity) and three f stops (f/8, 11 and 16). Look for an used sample as these aren't made anymore. Good quality fisheye lens. janelle Posted January 28, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted January 28, 2007 thanks all new to me. I will try to check it out. I am looking for full fisheye not just wide. I thought about Photoshop, but was curious anyway
Vivek Iyer Posted January 28, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2007 An actual example here! http://www.leica-camera-user.com/architektur/4351-r8-mit-12mm-fisheye.html Unlike the circular crop on the full frame (35mm film), it should cover the M8's sensor. Also this page is a great resource: fishlist.htm
