Keeping LTM Adapters screwed on (to the lens)

On my new M8 I find that the torque required to mount/dismount a normal Leica lens is suprising high.http://www.leica-camera-user.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

So much so that when I mount my CV15 (using an 'old full metal' Leica 135 adapter) I find that when I try to dismount the lens it unscrews, leaving the adapter in place.

This is then very difficult to remove using the silly little 'lugs' on the back of rear lens cap. And I would prefer not to find the shutter becoming gummed up with shreds of plastic which will be produced if the lens cap 'tool' slips.

This problem does not arise if use Voigtlandar adapter. But I bought the Leica Adapter so that I can 'code' the CV15 if that ever becomes desireable

Loctite? Seems a bit drastic. Or does the force required to mount a lens ease over time?

Experiences, ideas and solutions please.

Thank-you

Thank-you for your reply, and your implied assurance that it is normal for a new camera.

I guess I'll just wait and see if it eases up.

You might try spraying a little D40 on your finger and running it around the adapter flange and see if that reduces the friction to the point it comes off eaier. Use sparingly as you aren't trying to lube it just trying to reduce friction.

Although it would be nicer if it had been perfect the first time, the nice aspect of it being slightly too tight and then slowly easing up is that when it is done, it will probably be more perfect than reasonable to expect straight from the production line. Once the majority of the extra pressure is gone, it will stop wearing down further. I would just hang in there for a short while, and change the lenses from time to time. My 50 Lux Asph focusing also eased up, as it was quite stiff in the beginning.
