Despe Posted March 21, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I'm facing a weird issue and would appreciate to know if it comes from my own (user error) or from the camera itself. I'm doing a lot of low light shots (sunset and night) and have saved different presets. The one i use the most has iSO and max ISO set to 800, which is imho just excellent when shooting at night. That being said, if i use the same setup while shooting at daytime, the iISO does limit the sensitivity but most of the shots get overexposed between 1 and 2 stops. Not a big deal, as i shoot raw and can correct the exposure in LightRoom, but i'd be interested to know if anybody else has seen the same behavior. Btw, i have my D5 since November and i keep being blown away Cheers, Despe
Advertisement Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Hi Despe, Take a look here D-Lux 5 Overexposure . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted March 21, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2011 Could be you have your starting ISO set to high and the aperture to wide and the camera runs out of shutter speed to compensate for it. Don't have my camera with me, very rare occasion, so I can't check settings.
Despe Posted March 21, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 21, 2011 Hi Shootist, Thanks for your quick reply. What do you mean by "starting ISO" ? I didn't set any ISO except iISO. Cheers, Despe
Shootist Posted March 21, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 21, 2011 As I said I don't have my camera with me so I can't check but isn't iISO similar to something called Auto ISO where is raises and lowers the ISO. with that you set a starting, low side, ISO speed on the camera and then it gets raised if needed to what you have set as the highest ISO you want to use in the menu system. Digitom Posted March 27, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2011 I do not have such an effect on my D-Lux 5. Maybe - is it possible you have set Exposure value to +2 or so? And does the effect also occur if you change the field to spot mode?
