Should I take film or digital on my trip?

I'm going to Mexico City for two days on Sunday and I'm taking an M6, a Stylus Epic, and Tri-X.

The Epic (Mju-II) will be for shots when I don't want a Leica visible. It'll fit in a pocket and has a sharp lens with a shallow DoF.

And...both cameras has a 35mm lens, so the results should blend seamlessly.

Thanks guys,

I've decided to go with film.!

Now I have to decide: what film should I order?

and,

Should I order a 15mm finder for my 15 lens or will the 21 be fine?

I think I will bring both lenses.

I already have one roll of fp4 loaded in the camera, a roll of ektar, and a roll of panf plus.

I might just get another roll of fp4 and do all black and white,

what do you think?

-sorry for all the questions, i'm a noob when it comes to analog photography.

I once went on a trip and had the same problem. I ended up taking film but instead of BW, I took color then if I wanted to in PP I could convert to BW. Worked out nice.

Kyler,

Great photos. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

As far as my own trip to Mexico City, apparently two cameras opens up the possibility for customs interference (paying duty on a camera), so I left the Stylus at home and just took the M6.

When I got to Mexico City, it was very difficult for me to photograph on the street. Tight security everywhere, I speak no Spanish, I look totally different, and I felt like everyone was looking at me with suspicion. I took a few boring landscape pictures, but my most compelling photos were shot with my silly iPhone.

So, end result for me...this week I bought a Contax T3 for similar foreign travel. This will allow good, professional, sharp film photos with a 35mm field-of-view (my favorite and the same as my M6) in the form of a small, unobtrusive, pocketable, fully adjustable camera.

I'll post how my decision goes with my next foreign travel. I don't think I'll ever travel to a foreign city again with a camera hanging off my shoulder, or around my neck...not in today's environment. It'll be a wrist strap and the little T3 and Zeiss Sonnar 35/2.8

----David.
