hammam Posted January 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, anybody has experience with the 90/2.8 Hexanon-M, and can tell me how good it is? Sharpness? Contrast? Colors? Flare? And what price should I expect to pay for a good used one? Thanks a lot for your insight.

Never Satisfied Posted January 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 28, 2007 Hi, I've been trying to get hold of a second hand 90 Hexanon for nearly 6 months and as can be seen from Alex's examples they are brilliant. There is a guy on eBay, item number 150055801151 refers, who has some new Hexanons at $665USD, but at that price a Elmarit would be better value. Good luck with your search. Cheers Andrew. steed Posted January 29, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 29, 2007 Nice pix! Is there a focusing problem with this lens on Leicas due to the lens being designed for a different film to flange distance? Regards John W

Guest zwicko Posted January 29, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) In my opinion there are no problems whatsoever with that particular lens on my MP. I grabbed a mint example off eBay for exactly 200 euros. That even included two Heliopan filters, manual, leather pouch and the original box. Even though you seem to be located in Canada, you should consider contacting a Cologne based photo store (Foto Brell): They were selling brand new Hexanons for 298,- euros (on eBay as well, but I haven´t seen any for quite a long tome now). Picture taken with MP, Hexanon 2,8/90 and Kodak E100GX. Cheers, Zwicko Welcome, dear visitor! peter_n Posted February 1, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 1, 2007 Nice pix! Is there a focusing problem with this lens on Leicas due to the lens being designed for a different film to flange distance?Regards John W No focusing problems with any of the M-Hexanons. I used the 90/2.8 for several months and liked it a lot - excellent lens. I eventually sold it and bought a "thin" Tele-Elmarit for travel. Now I use the M-Hexanon 28/2.8, another winner. Outstanding optics and incredible build quality. You should be able to get a used 90/2.8 for ~US$400.
