stunsworth Posted January 27, 2007 Share #1  Posted January 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Taken this afternoon in New Brighton. I think this fellow has been seen on the forum before, but not for a while, so perhaps it's time to give him another outing :-)  M8, 35mm Summicron

andybarton Posted January 27, 2007 Share #2  Posted January 27, 2007 Get your own lighthouse...  Have you been to the one in Hale, near Widnes? I keep meaning to pop in sometime on my way home. When the nights draw out a bit more, maybe.  Anyway, keep up at the back, I posted one of these only last week. http://www.leica-camera-user.com/landscape-travel/14242-stormy-weather.html   Two trips down to the Wirral in two days?  We shall have to think about a toll... elansprint72 Posted January 27, 2007 Share #4  Posted January 27, 2007 Get your own lighthouse...   Two trips down to the Wirral in two days?  We shall have to think about a toll...  Don't you mean troll?  There's a lighthouse on top of a hill on the the Wirral, which has some very special mechanical gizmo in it, invented by a very clever bloke a long time ago; I can't recall exactly what it is but I think it saved a lot of lives at sea. Before you two come to blows over Perch Rock, can I suggest that you see who can take the best shots of it and who can give the fullest explanation of what the gizmo is.  What's happened to the Birkenhead submarines, btw?  Pete. andybarton Posted January 27, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 27, 2007 That's on Bidston Hill, IIRC. Â It's owned by the University and you can't get very close. Â The submarine (singular) is or has been moved, as the museum has closed.

stuny Posted January 28, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve - Â If memory serves, Andy actually has the deed to the place, so you'll need a model release. Your shot is beautiful with terrific color, light DOF, depth and composition.
