Hello,

My name is Warren Muzak. I just joined up here.

I'm 34 from Waterloo Ontario Canada.

I just got a Leica Digilux Zoom from my mother in law and the manual is long gone. Can anyone tell me if and where I may get one? Download a PDF file of it?

I contacted Leica and they said no on both counts. So now I'm asking here.

This is my first digital and so far its pretty good. Especially for a hand me down! : )

Any and all help would be appreciated.

I tried going to the Leica site and there is nothing available. An email from the company confirmed that. So unless someone has a PDF file of the manual I am left to figure this thing out myself.

If anyone has a PDF file of this manual or the Fuji MX 1700 please let me know.

Thanks again for all your help.

Welcome,

I think the Leica you have is the first Leica digital 'point & shoot' 1.5MP based on the Fuji camera? Steves Digicams has some info;

Steves Digicams - Fuji MX-1700 Zoom User Review

I guess it will be OK for web shots but 1.5MP isn't enough resolution for anything more than a 6x4 print, and you're pushing it at that. Although it has a Leica badge don't expect too much from it!

I'm sure others would be interested to see how the photos look, do post some.

Thanks James,

It is my first digital camera donated to me as I may have mentioned.

I am a performing songwriter and I now use the camera to take pictures of my friends on stage. Then dress them up in photoshop and email them back.

For that purpose its great. It does take some fine pictures. Nice and clear.

I also own a 1970 Canon Ftb. That is what I use for more important pictures.

Thanks for the help and I will post some pics soon.

Warren
