steich Posted January 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, when trying the "highlight trick" mentioned in jaaps posting http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/14769-little-highlight-trick-m8.html I tried to do as he said- but after clicking on the arrows a few times suddenly my camera showed a black screen with a picture´s file number on it! When I turned the wheel to see multiple pictures, I see that the picture with the certain file number has indeed multiplied....could that be some kind of "copy" function????????? What leads me to the question: Has anybody found other "easter eggs" or hidden features in the M8 firmware? Any "smart" key combinations? Regards Stefan

marknorton Posted January 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2007 No, but it's not for lack of trying....
steve_l Posted January 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2007 And it is actually more likely that "Easter egg" is really just another name for "firmware bug", I'd guess
cocker Posted January 27, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 27, 2007 Funny - and there's me thinking the machine was for taking photographs
arthury Posted January 27, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 27, 2007 If there're any Easter Egg code in there, it is probably *not* tested because it is not a generally released code. Please don't complain to Leica if your M8 goes into a "jammed" state.
eudemian Posted January 27, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 27, 2007 A neat feature to check a series of pictures for sharpness is to press play, enlarge, then keep play pressed down and use the thumbwheel arrow button, this will scroll to the next picture using the current enlargement setting. Neat. I don't know if this is generally known but I find the histogram setting in the main display disappears after review, so you can press info and with the info button constantly pressed you can scroll to the main photograph. Love the M8, trying to improve my technique.
