I have been using Lightroom since the first beta and have found the prepackaged workflow to be ideal. When I made the transition to the R9/DMR the files still looked pretty good . Since adding the M8 , I am rethinking my decision as C1 seems a must for the raw conversion. Anybody trying to make lightroom the core of their workflow? Would like to learn from the best practices.

I have been using LightRoom since beta 4. It works well with the DMR files, but for the M8, the color isn't there yet. I have also downloaded Photoshop CS3 and the Camera RAW 4 works much better with the M8 files. When LightRoom eventually ships, it is supposed to compatible with Camera Raw 4, so the M8 color may improve then.

I just don't want to spend too much time working on calibrating the color in LightRoom until it is out of Beta and a shipping product.

Roger,

You could use Raw Developer. Brian Griffith, the developer of RD, has provided several profiles for shots taken with the 486 filter. In addition, you can set Lightroom to open RD as the second image editor and it will open the M8's DNG's even if you entered medadata.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the experience....what about Capture One ..most of the posts indicate that it is the popular choice. If lightroom can open Capture One ..we might have an option to intergrate best in class software into a Leica workflow.
