MitchoIankov Posted February 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2011 I use the one from 35 Lux ASPH and it is a perfect match on my M8.
wattsy Posted February 23, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2011 I also use the hood from the previous 35mm Summilux ASPH. Seems fine with full frame M9.

Steve No Ring Ivor @ Red Dot or Boitique @ Broughton e.g. http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/about_us.php But the ones I buy are more expensive than the CVs lenses I use... viramati Posted February 23, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted February 23, 2011 thanks for the replies. Does the 35 hood impinge less on the viewfinder thanks
freusen Posted February 23, 2011 Share #11 Posted February 23, 2011 ...........does the 35 hood impinge less on the viewfinder........... David, if you look at my photo of the 35mm hood on the 28mm Summicron above, you can see that's much smaller then the origional hood. So it blocks the finder less. ------------ FrankR
Falstaff Posted February 23, 2011 Share #12 Posted February 23, 2011 David I stopped using the hood not because it was cutting into the viewfinder but because it just was bulky. I have been using it without a hood for some time now and all seems to be well. Falstaff

UliWer Posted February 24, 2011 Share #15 Posted February 24, 2011 There is even an original Leica alternative for the 28 Cron asph and the 28 Elmarit as well as for the first version of the 35mm lux asph. It's metal, round, number 12466. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! May be one of the scarcest products from Leica. Though there is a possibility you could find it anywhere, as because of it's very "original Leica" price I presume demand for it is rather low... Though there is a possibility you could find it anywhere, as because of it's very "original Leica" price I presume demand for it is rather low... If that is the 400 EUR+ Leica lens hood for the 35 Lux, that indeed is pure madness! I use the v1 35 Lux ASPH plastic hood on the 28 Cron ASPH. I got one for about 90 EUR new in box (if I remember correctly, the MSRP is more like 120 − 140 EUR). It works perfect and it is nice, to have the 28 and 25mm share hoods and lens caps (the quickest and easiest to use btw - just slip it). Guest Posted March 1, 2011 Share #17 Posted March 1, 2011 It could make a difference on a film body with its cloth shutter: the big 28mm Cron lens-hood has a cover, that snaps on the hood and does not get lost easily.
marknorton Posted March 2, 2011 Share #18 Posted March 2, 2011 I use the 46mm wide-angle hood from Heavystar on ebay. They're only painted, not anodised so wear quickly but I buy a few at a time for something like $7 each.

Hi Use acrylic matt black (black board) or enamel black board paint dilute 1:1 with thinners, for internal bits dont bother about external...
