250swb Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted February 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve - Generally I'm amost pathologically adicted to sharp photos, but this "soft" one is beautiful. Ahh but there's secret in this one. I'm not normally an advocate of bigger is better, but in this case a large print would make sense. I kind of think the image works as it is, at the size it is, as a sort of abstract. But in a large print something else happens. You have all the chaos of surging waters, but as you look in towards the wooden support in the centre of the image you find a window on a little world of plants and moss, almost like a still life, and all existing despite being on the edge of destruction. The water surges overhead just missing them. So it would be great as a wall sized print, where instead of pixel peeping as you walk towards it something else (almost like another photograph) appears.
