SJP Posted February 13, 2011 Share #61 Â Posted February 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe we should realise that the most amazingest of all is that Leica actuallly still exists? Â That the Mx is still viable as a concept is truly amazing, that they can redefine the playing field of large format sensor cameras is a similar feat of excellence. Â They would have died a long time ago if they did not have anything special.
Advertisement Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Hi SJP, Take a look here Leica: Please consider building this camera!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ericborgstrom Posted February 13, 2011 Share #62 Â Posted February 13, 2011 A rangefinder is an exquisite engineered optical precision mechanism from the early fifties. Exposure measurement ttl was accepted with the introduction of M7 soon 10 years ago. Â Hopefully Leica by now has the ability to let the M line of lenses have a choice of electronic focusing assistance. Moving sensors for image stabilisation exists on many cameras. Perhaps Leica engineers are up to making it work for focusing too giving the Japanese technical competition. Why being so conservative? peterv Posted February 13, 2011 Share #63 Â Posted February 13, 2011 ... It doesn't sound like the route which a firm like Leica would want to go down to me. Â Thanks Paul, this confirms my layman's thoughts about this issue. The topic has been returning quite often lately and I wondered if I had missed some major technical breakthrough in optics and/or AF design.
