Stuart, Thanks.

Chris, I'm not sure. btw, the book about this real hero has been re-issued:

Amazon.co.uk: Archie and the Listers: The heroic story of Archie Scott Brown and the racing marque he made famous: Books: Robert Edwards

I guess a man with only one arm and terribly deformed legs would not get near driving a car, never mind onto a race track these days.

Cheers,

Pete

Pete,

Great angle of shot - almost makes me feel like I'm in the driver's seat. Pardon my ignorance but is it a D-type?Pete.

Pete,

Not a D-Type. Lister Engineering makes farm machinery (conveyors and such stuff), they decided to go racing in the late 50s and built these cars, which, as already commented were known as "knobbly Jags"; you can see why from the two cars in the second shot! They also used Bristol and Chevrolet engines.

Thanks for the comments, folks.

Pete.
