eleskin Posted February 4, 2011 Share #21 Posted February 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) i would breathe a sigh of relief if I could take photos of moving subjects with my Noctilux! Children are especially difficult, but boy, the Noctilux really shines with children (the bokeh and glow are irresistable for me). Why cant we have an autofocus solution for M and R mount lenses that really works. I really feel Contax was on to something with the AX. Back then, technology was more limited. With todays sensors, motors, etc,,, this would work really well!
Advertisement Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hi eleskin, Take a look here Record Sales for Leica in Q3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mongrelnomad Posted February 4, 2011 Share #22 Posted February 4, 2011 Just goes to show what numbers a niche company can pull with a strong line of fantastic products. My M9 is probably the best camera I've ever owned (that or my MP), and every lense is a winner. I'd love and S2 and can see the unique appeal of the X1 (although it's not for me). The rebranded Panis keep the glow and brand-awareness at the consumer level, and are rather good to boot. Well done to Leica. I'm overjoyed to see that there is money in the bank to keep up the r&d that brought us this stellar range...
mooky Posted February 6, 2011 Share #23 Posted February 6, 2011 Yep, all that profit really is helping the R solution. I'm glad to see they are making money. But how will they be without mega-$$$$ special editions? I expect them to make money. But I'm just going to keep on waiting to see what they do with it and how long it will take to show results from it. I'll keep looking at Leica as a glass half full - better than half empty.
