fastdap@mac.com Posted January 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm sure this question has been covered here elsewhere, but I don't know how to find it? How should I clean the DMR sensor of dust? Thanks, mark
Advertisement Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi fastdap@mac.com, Take a look here How to clean DMR sensor?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2007 if it is grease than use Eclipse and a sensor cleaner swab. If it is just dust blow it off with canned air or a blower brush. easist sensor to clean in all of 35mm.
fastdap@mac.com Posted January 24, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks Guy, I suspect that the cleaning info is in the original materials supplied with the DMR, just don't have access at this time. Thanks for the info, mark
macusque Posted January 24, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 24, 2007 The DMR is the easiest digital camera to clean from sensor's dust. Simply open the back and have direct access to the sensor. I use ArcticButterfly (first model) from Visible Dust and I highly recommend it. Fast, dry, portable and very effective cleaning tool. More info on the Arctic Butterfly (newer models) here. carstenw Posted January 24, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 24, 2007 I have just bought and received today the Arctic Butterfly 1.3x Pro Sensor Cleaning Kit: Digital Camera Sensor Cleaning with VisibleDust Products It works really well. I needed to swipe my M8 sensor three or four times before I finally got most of the large dust particles off. I took picture with my 35/2 Asph at infinity of a well-lit object (Bisley) at about 20cm at f16 each time, to check the state of the sensor. Now there are just two or three small particles, only just visible at f/16 where I never shoot, but totally invisible anywhere near wide open, where I usually shoot. I gather that I rather over-bought, since the smaller brush is meant to be used on the "mirror" of the M8
LVSBB6 Posted April 11, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 11, 2010 Do you guys use the dry or wet cleaning method on the DMR?
topoxforddoc Posted April 11, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use the wet method with Eclipse and a Pec Pad on my DMRs. I take it apart, open the back and hey presto - 2-3 wipes with a moistened (with Eclipse fluid) Pec Pad and you're done.
