I have to say I was quite impressed by the results (compared to say my Canon P&S) - including the 16:9 format with flash. Â Have people generally been happy with the flash performance, allowing for it's obvious limitations of size, and the fact that it's a P&S and not a large add on / off camera flash? rick123 Posted January 23, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 23, 2007 Low light photography has been one of the most frustrating aspects of this little gem (I have the D-Lux 2). My pictures in good sunlight have been spectacular (even without the use of a viewfinder, which I do miss). Flash photography is 50:50 at best - and yes, the lower the ISO the better. I'm going to purchase an optical slave that will just attach to the bottom of my ancient old old Vivitar 283. I plan to set the dlux-3 flash to fire at a lower setting, just enough to trigger the off-camera 283. This should allow me to bounce the flash off a wall or using a card to get the results I want. Pure speculation now, but just my thoughts. Â I will say that the 283 is bigger than, and weights more than the camera, so it will be used in this way quite infrequently!
