ckthual Posted January 22, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Â After having tried a Ricoh GRD I was not completely satisfied with, I just got a Leica D-LUX 3 and... I'm quite pleased with it so far, it's a very nice little camera. I was looking for a small P&S camera to have with me all day, as my Canon 5D is... em... a bit heavy ! ;-) The image quality is OK as long as you shoot raw, the difference between the same picture in raw and jpeg is really big. The image is a bit soft and needs a bit, or a lot contrast increase, but Adobe Camera Raw takes good care of that. I was happily surprised by the macro mode, it makes a beautiful bokeh. I always have prefered to shoot black and white and the noise isn't bad at all, almost film-like. The body is very nice, I took the silver one because the 1 month delay was a bit long to wait... And, last thing, the camera is very silent (as long as you disconnected the false shutter sound and else). Â As you see, I'm very pleased with my little camera, I can't wait to have a little time to shoot more ! :-) Â My first images (still testing the little thing) are available here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/thual/sets/72157594487182835/ Â Kind regards to all. TEBnewyork Posted January 23, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 23, 2007 Cedric, Enjoy it. I particularly like the self portrait with Mathmap. I will have to check out that program.
