JackTheRipper Posted January 15, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a Leica D-lux 5 and I'm trying to download some videos that I filmed with it, but they won't download to my macbook pro... None of the videos are showing up and it's killing me, any ideas? thanks! Jack
Advertisement Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Hi JackTheRipper, Take a look here d-lux 5 help needed, please... . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted January 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2011 Jack-- If you're using a cardreader (as you should) to transfer the files from a cardreader to the computer, the Finder should see them, and you should be able to drag-and-drop to the hard drive. If your cardreader can't read the card, it may be that it's only compatible with SD cards, and that you're using an SDHC card in the camera. Solutions: a) use a (smaller) SD card; or get a later cardreader. But it sounds as if you have no problems retrieving still images, so the difficulty may be with the format of the video recordings. Remember, with the D-Lux 5 you have the choice of recording in "Motion JPG" or in "AVCHD Lite." Could be that you don't have an application on the laptop that can read whichever format the files are in. Someone will doubtless pop up with advice on what video processor to download to see the movies, or to convert what you've got to a format more useful to you. I hope that helps. Shootist Posted January 16, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 16, 2011 What type of video did you shoot.
Digitom Posted January 16, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 16, 2011 I think the problem was, not how to download the videos to the computer, it is how to PLAY the AVCHD Video. I use VLC Video Player for playing the videos. Works fine.
