Â I wonder if one should get the original hood for thr Tri-Elmar (28-35-50) if one intends to use it with 486 filter or maybe better another hood (like the cheapo hood recommended by Guy for several lenses). stunsworth Posted January 22, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 22, 2007 Thomas, the hood for the 2nd version of the TE clips onto the lens barrel - much like the 35mm Summicron does if you know that lens. There's no problem having a filter and the hood on a lens, and the hood can be removed and put into place easily if there's a filter on the lens.
