When I concluded all that buying and selling didn't help my pictures, or was a substitute for shooting, I pretty much slowed the acquisitions. During Leica's most recent dark days (circa. '03--'05), I got a pretty good deal on new lenses. And I've used them since, only selling a 35mm Summilux asph, which I regret, because now it will cost twice as much to replace. But I have a 35mm Summicron asph, 50mm summicron and 90mm elmarit, and in '05 I acquired a 50mm summilux asph when it was introduced, thinking it would become my main lens. On the street or for short trips where weight is an issue, I either bring three (28, 35, 50) or four (with 75 added). I have sold quite a number of lenses including a 1.0 Noctilux, my first Summicrons (35 & 50 DR), and a 90mm macro Elmar. Although I do not intend to re-purchase any of them, I regret every sale. I can't afford to be a collector but I love the character and feel of Leica gear. I covet the 35 and 50 'luxes.
