Yes I am a gear head and want to get in on this too.

I am kinda new to Leica and started with the M9. I traded my Nikon stuff for:

28 Elmarit ASPH ) 28 was my WA of choice on the FF Nikon

50 lux ASPH ) I wanted a fast lens and 28 is often to wide at night.

90 cron pre-APO ) I liked 85 on the FF Nikon so I thought this was the closest.

I later added a 35 lux pre-ASPH as a walk around lens. While 28 was nice on the DSLR, it seemed a bit wide on the rangefinder and I am liking 35. This is becoming my favorite.

Zeiss 18. This has a great look to it but I am not real comfortable with the super wides.

135 Hektor... I kept my DSLR for long lenses and was not planning on getting longer than 90 but for $50, everyone should have one of these.

I like gear head threads but they are more fun if we tell why we chose each of our treasures.

Pete

Guest Ron (Netherlands)

only did a quick count on my 35mm focal length lenses - since that is my latest hype :):

2 elmars

4 summarons

5 summicrons

after I will have acquired some more of these, I may have a look at a 35mm summilux, but I am - at this moment - not particularly fond about its rendering and sharpness, apart from the asph, but that one is quite heavy...well will see
