Advertisement Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Hi relester, Take a look here C/Z 21mm f/2.8 Distagon T* MM. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gtmerideth Posted January 21, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 21, 2007 Eugenio, I don't know of a Zeiss to Leica M adapter and there would be no rangefinder coupling which would make focusing difficult. There is a Leica R to Leica M adapter. g.

gurtch Posted January 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted January 21, 2007 With lens adapter can the C/Z 21 distagon be used on leica M8? Thanks. Hi all: Because of this lens' sterling reputation adapted to the Canon 1DSII and 5D, the used prices are out of site. Howeve,r the Cosina made Carl Zeiss 21mm f2.8 ZM in Leica M mount is exceptional....I have one. I don't know if the Kyocera made 21mm in Contax mount is "better" than the Cosina made 21mm in M mount, but I have difficulty beliving an SLR full retrofocus lens would be any better than the ZM....however I could be wrong, as I have not used the SLR version. The ZM od course is rangefider coupled, and has become my favorite M8 lens. Best regards Dave G

mike prevette Posted January 21, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted January 21, 2007 The ZM 21 is fantastic. I absolutely love that lens. I don't think a slr version would be able to compare once you takes size into account. Â _mike
J_Brittenson Posted January 22, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree with mike. Save yourself several thousand dollars and get the ZM 21. It's as good if not better, and has lower distortion. Build quality and feel is excellent. Slightly big for an M lens, but of course nothing like the C/Y 21 which is a boat anchor. Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 22, 2007 Share #8  Posted January 22, 2007 Okay showing off a little here . this is the Zeiss 21mm distagon on a 1ds. No doubt when this image was put on the web the Distagon became one popular item to get. This was a several years ago when you could still get one at 1600 dollars. for the curious a Falcon 900b business jet, shot in a hangar. Welcome, dear visitor! Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 22, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted January 22, 2007 Now I would rather have the M style than the SLR mount since it is much smaller and also has less distortion
gogopix Posted January 22, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted January 22, 2007 was the sky photoshoped? great shot of the interior, but did they open the hangerdoors for this? (and the sun just happened on the horizon? Â in any case, the lighting is what makes this shot. Could have been an R 19mm as well (but less FOV with crop. So ok, here is one place where crop hurts since 15mm on R9 / DMR wouldnt have a nice perspective.)
Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 22, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted January 22, 2007 Sky was added but your right the leica 19mm would have worked just as well and later that is what I did was replace it withthe leica 19mm and less distortion and better price. Not too mention a LOT smaller
