If it fits for the II, it's an ORAKO, which is smaller than the OKARO for later bodies (beginning with the IIIc).

Exactly!

ORAKO (diameter 10mm) for I, II, III, IIIa, Saar).

OKARO (diameter 11mm) for IIIb, IIIc, IIc, Ic, IIId, IIIf, IIf, If, IIIg, Ig, IIg.

You mentioned the IIIg and siblings. I guess you mean the IIIg only. AFAIK the IIg never went into production and the Ig doesn't have a rangefinder. BTW, how would the OKARO fit onto the flat rangefinder window of the IIIg?

Addition/correction of #21:

All the models I (one), those without a built-in rangefinder, can take the FOKOS rangefinder and that can take ORAKO.

(Not really convenient... something to play with).

IIg - Dennis Laney in the Leica Collector's Guide says that 12-15 IIg were made.

(Dennis Laney, Leica Collector's Guide, 2nd Edition, p.89).

IIIg - I do not own a IIIg, but I remember having spoken to a IIIg owner who told me about his IIIg taking OKARO. (Last year I tried to find ORAKO for my III and collected a lot of information about OKARO and ORAKO, eventually I bought both, you never know).

You cannot fix an OKARO on a IIIg because the edge of the viewfinder is too thin to assure a safe clamping.
