Posto 6 Posted December 25, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted December 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using my Pradovit CA-2502, which had worked flawlessly for the past 27 years, to look at a whole batch of my last Kodachromes. However, two problems have now arisen: -The autofocus seems to have gone crazy, as it continuously goes hunting wildly for a suitable focus. To stop this, I have to use the override on the remote cable (wired) control. -What appears to be the fan has become quite rattly and noisy compared to before. Anyone have any ideas if there are any obvious weak points? Â Any help or suggestions will be very gratefully received, as otherwise the projector still works without any problems (I have owned it since new). Â Thanks in advance, Â Gerry

Seems to happen when the projector has been bought in out of the cold mostly. In the past with other projectors its responded to cleaning the system, where the autofocus relies on a beam being reflected off the surface of the slide and falling on a cell, cleaning the cellmight help, I don't know the particular system the CA-2502 uses. The fan noise might be dry bearings for the fan motor or the fan itself, or worn bearings allowing the fan to move backwards and forwards.  Gerry (another one!)
