This is so well photographed, and tells the story perfectly. Would it be even stronger if the child were sharp instead of the dog? Hard to say without seeing it, but the kind of question I often ask about my own shots.

Good question. I don't know the answer, but my gut told me to do it this way... and it was a split second decision. The "fuzziness" of the "brave" one somehow works for me, but I realize others may disagree.

I love it. I think it's the dog which has to be in focus, if only to show clearly that it's a friendly dog.

Terrific. I agree with Larry on all counts. BTW: I found I could sharpen this some without causing any problems. I suspect it might be enough, especially working from the original file.

Ha, ha! No problem, my friend! It took me this long to make up my mind too! I always take into consideration others' comments because most of the time we're emotionally attached to our own images, especially in the very beginning. Getting an unbiased view is therefore very valuable, and is always appreciated by me! Thank you again.
