Does anyone have any good examples of the original f1 noctilux shot wide open That they can upload in raw format as looking at all these web resized jpgs isn't really telling me much and I'd like to see the 'magic' properly.

You will find a folder named "m8" where you will find 4 samples.

thank you for the 4 examples - the ones at iso 160 are impressively sharp for f1.

 

However i really would like to see someones example shot on the M9 as its the area then M8 crops out that i'm keen to examine - vignetting etc. however you have successfully answered my question as to how sharp it can be

what I would like is to congratulate you on a great photo. the angles are so amazing I feel dizzy just looking at the image of the street.

Yes, that's a great photo. It is very hard to show a slope in a photo.

The train photo is so powerful, the train adds the extra dimension to the Noct pic IMHO, plus it being yellow, just add a more punch to it! I feel like the train is about to crash into my direction...

The bluish general tone is nicely offset by the car's color and its warm-light interior. Seems to be the only point of warmth in the picture.

 

Plus the shallow depth of field serves to concentrate the eye on the car, as do the several pedestrians who are also looking at it.

 

The tracks seem to end in the pedestrian steps, rather than turn aside.

 

Looks as if the two sets of tracks have a catenary but also an access slot as for a cable-car. Really mischievous, if you ask me!
