Finally, everything came together and I got a chance to use my old f/1 Nocti at a gig. I think I'll be doing it again! I have a 0.95 on order and I'm a little scared that I wont like the way it renders compared to the old one...... ooer. We'll see. Can't keep both.

Reds,

These are great, I envy you, I haven't had the opportunity to take my noct into a venue for a show....yet.

I never had the F1 version, but the 0.95 is stellar, actually I went from the Canon 0.95 to the Noctilux 0.95 and nearly at the same time from a M8 to M9. It's as if the M9 and Noct 0.95 were made for each other.

Enjoy!

Thank you everyone. When I got this lens (at Red Dot), it was back focusing badly on my M9. Ivor arranged to have it sent it back to Solms with my M9 for calibration and it's been sweet and spot on since. Well worth the few weeks' wait. Possibly why I'm a bit hesitant about the new one; When it turns up, I'll be trading this one back in for it.

I think the new Nocti will be a little sharper wide open, which would be great for future concert work (Steve Huff's Seal shots were an inspiration for giving it a go).

Ben - I was shooting wide open, or at f/1.4 99% of the time, with the odd shot at f/2. Can't trust the EXIF data of course, but the first image is showing f/1. (Haven't checked the rest).

ISOs were 1600 - 2500 depending where the light was, and trying to maintain 1/125 or higher shutter speed.

Cheers, Nick.
