roubaix Posted January 20, 2007 Share #1  Posted January 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Experienced Forum members,  I have a 35/Cron/2.0/ASPH and 90/Macro-Elmar/4.0 in my camera bag (a brand new Artisan and Artisit GCAM 7200) and am waiting (and waiting and waiting...) for delivery of my M8 body from Calumet. Do I:  1) buy 2 B+W filters now (and probably wait for these as well) 2) wait for the camera and get the Leica filter offer  I didn't register camera in December since I haven't paid for it yet. So, I'm not sure how that plays into the picture. It will kill me to get the camera and then have to wait another few weeks for the proper filter sets...  Thanks for the advice.  Peter
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hi roubaix, Take a look here Filters: buy now or later?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted January 20, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 20, 2007 You will probably have to wait anyway. Leica's filters won't be ready until February or March, by their own admission, and B+W are producing a new batch at the moment, as they have run out. Unless you can find the filters in stock somewhere (buy!), you might be better off ordering them, to get them sooner. You may end up with doubles, though, as the Leica filters start to ship. canlogic Posted January 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted January 21, 2007 I would wait at least until you have the camera by then the free Leica one might be available.
johnkuo Posted January 21, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 21, 2007 I would wait for the leica filters. Honestly I haven't seen much of an issue with IR so far, so unless you have some job that demands the use of them, I would wait for the Leica ones.
