You would be allow a discount off (1) lens...

Two free IR/Uv Cut Filters are offered by Leica AG when registar your camera...

I take it that you either have your camera or paid for it in full prior to Dec 31, 2006...

If so... You can registar your camera and select your filter preference at the following:

Once on the web site and before submitting your request please print a copy of your address page...

Also, print a copy of your filter selection... Leica AG will send you a letter with instructions if you

would like to purchase a discounted lens... The lens request will be mailed to you by Leica AG...

Thanks for the info. Nice to hear this directly from Leica, since, as far as I can tell, no one in the US has received a US price list yet.

 

And, I believe a lot of people who registered still haven't received a letter at all. I wonder if they're waiting to finalize their US price list before mailing the letter.

 

Just curious, anyone buy a Leica towards end of Dec in the US who *has* received a letter offering the discount?

The answers posted above are consistent with what I've heard from Leica USA. Any US price list will have to come from Leica AG in Solms. I've referred my questions to Solms as suggested by Leica USA, but have not received an answer. When there is an answer to a reasonable question, they answer very quickly, so I assume that the US and other out of EU pricing are still being discussed.

 

I registered around Dec 20, and received "the letter" from Steven K Lee, with the offer of a discount and the EU price list at year-end.

I will stay on top of this and let people know what I find out ...over all I find the people at Leica US very nice to deal with ....Rob Fisk in repairs is the best but all these people are at the mercy of Solms so they can only be what they can be

I purchased mine on December 28th in the USA and registered that same day. Last week I received an official letter with the 30%off offer and a complete list price in Euros here at Buenos Aires, Argentina.
