cnguyen Posted January 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My 135mm f4.5 Hektor M mount can do wonders - I picked up a Viso I outfit recently for M mount and been trying my old lenses on it. Take a look what an old Hektor can do on an old Visoflex I w/bellows. First is regular size, 2nd pic is 100% . Taken with M8. I also have the M6TTL so I'll try with film as well. Advertisement Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hi cnguyen, Take a look here New life for 135mm f4.5 Hektor - pics. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest flatfour Posted January 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2007 I used to use my 135 Hektor quite a lot with my Leica III with the Vidom. The trick in tracking objects going from the wrong direction took time to learn but by keeping both eyes open I managed. I know the lens is of simple construction but I was able to get pictures that would have been impossible without it. I'll try and find one to put on the forum. Guest flatfour Posted January 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2007 This shot was taken with my 135mm Hektor on my Leica III using Ilford XP2. The depth of focus is excellent and this only a small part (about 20% ) of the negative as I was so far away.
cnguyen Posted January 20, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted January 20, 2007 great shot ! the mighty Hektor and it's not that expensive a lens either. Made me wonder do we need the 135mm Elmar/Tele Elmar or the heavy Elmarit ?
dkCambridgeshire Posted January 21, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 21, 2007 I seem to recall that Stephen Dalton used a modified 135 Hektor on a Nikon for much of his high speed natural history photography. The lens has a reputation for softness at wider apertures but when stopped down it is a good performer. Dunk
