JC,

Many thanks for posting that link. It makes me wonder if I should have persisted with my "Friday" Leicaflex black SL, since it is such a great looking camera. However three visits to Leica UK in the first three months were just too much and I switched to Contax RTS type cameras for the next 20 years (139, RTS2, RX and AX).

Dear all,

... a little question or two to trigger your expertise !

I have a black 21 Super Angulon 3.4 from 1974 sn 2672856 which has the scripture "BUND" engraved in yellow next to the infinity mark.

Is it a military version ? Is there anything special about it ?

Thanks and best regards,

Jean-Marc.

Bund simply states Federal versus Land, which would be Regional as: Hessen, Saarland...etc

Ein Bundesland is a region of the country :)

So simple. Bund is the  federation of Bundesländer which makes up Germany. So some government agency bought a lens, presumably to go with a camera, and Leica kindly engraved it for them to prevent some civil servant from pressing it into private use.

Hello to collectors, I dig up this pleasant thread.
Here are three photos, taken through glass, that can interest enthusiasts.

Leica M3 1954

It's with this camera that Jean Loup SIEFF realized the images of BORINAGE (1959) which allowed him to obtain the NIEPCE prize in 1959

In the most important camera museum in France at Saint Bonnet de Mure , département Rhône 69. It has the second collection of Nikon after the Nikon Museum in Japan. Lots of very rare cameras. Luckily, I live at 25km. Here is the internet link:
