What are your settings at for the JPG? I have set the color space to Adobe, but how about sharpening, contrast, etc? Â I would assume that sharpening should be off and everything else set to standard except for maybe "saturation" in case a more chrome look is desired. Sound right? bradreiman Posted January 22, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 22, 2007 hi sorry-im using the jpegs for web etc. i have been doing sharpening-low, all else standard. i like cloudy white balance for most outdoor stuff and manual for other situations. be carefull about the monitor brightness setting as it can fool you into thinking you have a better or worse exposure than you have. im trying to ignore the lcd because the shots look great on mac but the lcd is causing me to make unneede adjustments. good luck and post some pictures...b Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

marknorton Posted January 22, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 22, 2007 I used to use low sharpening buy Martin's high contrast pictures have convinced me to use none; I turn both saturation and contrast down one notch. But, by common consent, JPEGs are still a work in progress on this camera, not least due to the variable and unpredicable WB, so you will always need a DNG to rescue you in case the camera has got it wrong. If it gets better than this with future firmware release, I may never learn how to work with raw. Â That said, the little bit of DNG work I've done has been less than 10% of what it took to get a quality result from my Kodak MF back on a Contax645. Â This camera is amazing. I need to figure out how to downsize them to upload.  In PS(E) go to "image", resize with the default "bicubic" to 800 wide or 650 high (depending on landscape/portrait), set "mode" to 8-bits and colour space to sRGB, go to filter "unsharp mask" and sharpen using radius 0.4, threshold 0 and amount between 50 and 150 according to taste.Save the image as Jpeg, quality 12, baseline standard. Then upload the image to for instance "www.photobucket.com" (free service), and copy the Welcome, dear visitor!
