Rob,

 

Both are nice shots. I like the second the best. They have great mood and atmosphere but I believe they would be even better in straight b&w. My opinion.

I too prefer #2 (I suspect the trolley car wires bother me about #1), which is atmospheric and at the same time both romantic and foreboding. Lovely, but I'll bet somebody will be bothered by cutting off the top of her head.

With #1 I personally think that the tramcables add a little dynamics to the picture. Without them it woulb a bit dull, of course I could have taken a step or two aside to avoid the cables.

B&W, I'll try that.

 

#2, The head bothered me a bit too, but I think it gives just a little disturbance to what might have been an overly romantic picture otherwise. I do have some more with the whole statue as well.
