Marquinius Posted December 12, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted December 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) A couple of months ago some newspaper stated that Flevoland (where I live) is the ugliest place in the Netherlands. I guess I'll have to take that reporter for a walk some day . Â M8 Summilux f1.4 50mm / "stille kern" (silent core).
Advertisement Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Hi Marquinius, Take a look here Dutch vista. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 12, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted December 12, 2010 Marco - Â Beautiful, and see if you can get him to join you. At the very least send him photos.
sandro Posted December 12, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted December 12, 2010 Beautiful picture! And I agree that Flevoland (and Almere) have their beautiful and exciting places. Thanks for sharing this. Lex
Akemi-M Posted December 13, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted December 13, 2010 Marco, Â Perhaps the reporter was visually impaired . Lovely image. Â Best regards, Robert
Marquinius Posted December 13, 2010 Author Share #5 Â Posted December 13, 2010 Stuart, Lex Robert, my pleasure entirely. Â The problem is that most people never get off the roads and so miss all the good places altogether. Cross checking myself: that's not so bad as that made it possible to walk about alone in the first place
pauledell Posted December 14, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted December 14, 2010 Marco, Â A lovely shot of a lovely place. You will have to show the reporter this scene and if he doesn't change his opinion, throw him in the water. Â Paul
NZDavid Posted December 14, 2010 Share #7 Â Posted December 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Reporters, what do they know! Great shot. There are beautiful spots in ugly areas and ugly spots in beautiful areas -- good on you for searching out the beautiful places!
Doc Henry Posted December 14, 2010 Share #8  Posted December 14, 2010 A couple of months ago some newspaper stated that Flevoland (where I live) is the ugliest place in the Netherlands. I guess I'll have to take that reporter for a walk some day .M8 Summilux f1.4 50mm / "stille kern" (silent core).  This means we will construct apartment buildings there , what will make it even "uglier" To choose between the two options, I'd rather keep what is natural  Very nice landscape Marco Thanks for sharing Henry
Marquinius Posted December 14, 2010 Author Share #9  Posted December 14, 2010 @Paul: hmmm, I envision a reporter taking a dive, only to find about 4 inches of ice ... but overall I should see if I could find this guy and show him what's what.  @David: ugly in beauty and vv ... now there's a deep thought  @Henry: do NOT scare me like that, old friend. Apartment buildings ... brrr.
roguewave Posted December 15, 2010 Share #10 Â Posted December 15, 2010 Marco, another fine imgae. Love all the details. The mood of winter has overtaken us in NYC with frigid temps & gray skies. My least favorite time of year. Much enjoyed.
Marquinius Posted December 15, 2010 Author Share #11 Â Posted December 15, 2010 Ben, Â Ah, this is where we really differ! This is where I'm starting to pop and bubble with life. Mist, rain, clouds and stormy weather are my favs. And some frosty morning (Sunday, shooting this photo made me get up EARLY): yummy. Â And best thing? Early March, first sunny day, that sense of change. Like Winnie the Pooh with that spoon of honey, just before actually tasting it.
daveleo Posted December 15, 2010 Share #12 Â Posted December 15, 2010 a wonderful image ! Â we are surrounded by great beauty and (unfortunately) a huge mass of stupid people, most of whom work for the news media. Â the cure? . . . just carry on, i guess . . . love your photograph. allamande Posted December 16, 2010 Share #13 Â Posted December 16, 2010 Marco, Â The core has a solid good heart, nurturing, welcoming, soothing, giving joy. The rest is piffle, my friend. Â Ece
Marquinius Posted December 17, 2010 Author Share #14 Â Posted December 17, 2010 @Dave: I'm sure some good cannolis will do the trick as well. Â @Ece: I had to look up piffle and must say I rather like the word. Now wait ... 6 inches of snow has fallen in the last 8 hours ... I simply will HAVE to find the time ...
