IR-CUT filter on 15 Voigtlander

Others have replied already before I saw this thread again and, as they've said, the older Leitz adapters do not have the cut out in the area that overlaps the 6-bit sensor.

My own preference, I think, would be for a ring that I could glue onto the front surround (surrounding the front lens element) that would provide 39 mm threads. If such existed, a 40 mm to 39 mm filter adapter might do the trick, if anyone makes one.

Cheers,

Sean

(if you want to make a search, don't use the right part of the box, but insert a key word on the left part. The site was recently completetely reorganized, and there is a bug)

This looks like it might keep me occupied for a while. I've bookmarked it and will be back when you get the navigation bugs cleared.

Thanks for the link,

Same trick with a Hoya 39 filter ring I had floating around. This sort of clips in so should even easier to use. I've got the 39mm 486 on order so will able to swap between my 35mm Cron and the Voigtlander... a solution at no additional expense. How nice.

I also agree with others who comment on the need for the IR cut filters at all time for colour work - my experience outdoors in cloudy and sunlit conditions with those lenses for which I have filters (currently 21 pre-asph elmarit / 50 pre-asph lux) compared with those that don't is proof positive enough for me.

I never take the filters off for anything. There on and just need some profiles from C1 that will work better . There is IR contamination in every light source some more than others and I don't want to play the on and off game.

I had a bit of time in the shop today:

machined off the irregular perimeter of the C/V adapter, made a thin ring and press fitted it, effectively replacing the missing area of the original flange. Next I have to machine in the lens locating recess, as some of that was removed and six recess for coding. Also picked up the 37mm filter at Adorama..I'll make an adapter ring for that.

On closer inspection I get some vignetting with the 37mm filter. Might try a 39. The problem is both of these filters are silver (that I have), so they'll happily reflect light all over the place. The 39mm filter flares something ridiculous on the 28/3.5 out in daylight.

God, I hate this filter crap. At $60-$100 a pop it's expensive crap.

That's "Rex, the Wonder Dog" to you. :p

Yes, someone is going to figure out a adapter scheme for self coding. If the little ovals are machined into the adapter, anyone could code without being an artist and protect it with a little clear nail poish. And change it at will with a little acetone.

....arf, ARF!!

Someone ought to make LTM adapters with little holes for inserting black or white plastic tabs for coding... (Supplied with the adapter of course.)
